Regionally known criminals
mod for Morrowind
v1.1
Readme file
Description
After making werewolves and vampires regional the time had come to make the crime system regional, too.
This mod will make crime on Morrowind region dependent. This means that after you commit a crime in Balmora people in Caldera won't know about your crimes, but when you go back to Balmora you will get your bounty back.
After a certain crime level people in other towns will also hear about your crimes. The news of your crimes will only spread to towns that have the same kind of guards as in the town you commited the crime. For example when your crime level reaches that certain treshold in Seyda Neen, your crime level will also increase in other imperial towns like Ebonheart, Dagon Fel and Fort Frostmoth. This certain crime level treshold is 5000 by default but it is changeable with the console (see below).
This mod makes difference between local and global bounties. Local bounty means your bounty in a town known by this mod. For example your bounty in Vivec. You get global bounty when you commit a crime in the wilderness or in a mod added town. When you are in a town known by this mod only your local bounty will be active, otherwise your global bounty. When you pay the fine for a guard only your local bounty gets removed.
When you are a member of the Thieves Guild the same persons who offered clearing your name will now have a new topic called " too high a price on your head ". When you select this topic you will be able to clear your name in the region of your choice for half price.
If you use the Bloodmoon or Trubunal&Bloodmoon version of this mod going to jail will remove all of your bounty from all towns.
New in version 1.1
- Now there is a new topic "confess to a crime". With this you will be able to tell the guards about your crimes, so you will be able to pay your bounty and clear your name in any regions. (Thanks Cortex for the tip.)
- The old "too much price on your head" topic has been changed to " too high a price on your head". (Thank you Gren.)
- Fixed an issue with the Morrowind and Tribunal versions of the mod.
Some other notes
- The mod can remember your bounty in 39 originally ingame town.
- The scripts of the mod were greatly optimised since Regionally Known Werewvoles. Now you shouldn't notice a single fps loss.
- If you find any bugs in this mod please let me know about it at zennorious@t-online.hu
Changing the crime level when the news of your crimes will start to spread to other towns
In the game open the console with the ~ key and type: set RKC_Setting_SpreadFactor to <bounty>
For example if you only would like to get bounty in other towns after 10000, type:
set RKC_Setting_SpreadFactor to 10000
The maximum value is 2147483647.
The default value is 5000.

Make sure when you extract the zip file it's content goes into your Morrowind\Data Files directory. (The default Morrowind directory's location is C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind.)

Make sure that you only enable one of these files. The box near that file's name should be selected now.
- Click OK and start the game.
- If you only have Morrowind without any expansions the mod starts in the Census and Excise Office in Seyda Neen. You can also type: StartSript RKC_KnownCriminalCheck into the console to start the mod. The mod automaticly starts when you have at least one of the expansions.
